Seema Haider Pleads to Stay in India Amid Rising Tensions with Pakistan

Seema Haider’s Emotional Plea: From Pakistan’s Daughter to India’s Daughter-in-Law

In a dramatic turn of events, Seema Haider—the Pakistani woman who crossed borders for love—now faces an uncertain future in India. After illegally entering the country in 2023 to live with her lover Sachin Meena, she fears deportation as India-Pakistan tensions escalate.

A Love Story Across Borders

Seema Haider, originally from Pakistan’s Sindh province, left her husband and entered India via Nepal to start a new life with Sachin Meena, a resident of Greater Noida. The couple, who recently welcomed a baby girl named Bharti, now lives as a family in Uttar Pradesh.

But their happiness hangs in the balance.

Why Seema Fears Deportation

Following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives (mostly tourists), India has taken strict measures against Pakistan:

  • Suspended visa services for Pakistani nationals.
  • Asked Pakistani citizens in India to return home by April 27 (April 29 for medical visa holders).

Amid these developments, Seema made an emotional appeal:

“I was Pakistan’s daughter, but now I’m India’s daughter-in-law. I don’t want to go back. I appeal to PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath to let me stay with my family.”

Her plea, captured in a viral video, highlights her desperation to remain in India.

Seema’s lawyer, Advocate AP Singh, argues that she should be exempt from deportation:

  • She has married an Indian citizen, Sachin Meena.
  • She has renounced her Pakistani identity, embracing Hinduism after marriage.
  • Her newborn daughter, Bharti, is an Indian citizen by birth.

“Seema is no longer a Pakistani national. Her life is now tied to India,” Singh told PTI.
