MG Windsor EV Pro Images Leak Ahead of May 6 India Launch

The MG Windsor EV Pro is all set to make its India debut on May 6, and just days before the official launch, clear images of the electric vehicle have surfaced online. The leaked pictures reveal some exciting updates that are bound to make this new variant an attractive option for EV buyers.

MG Motor India, under its new partnership with JSW, is expanding its EV lineup with this Pro version of the Windsor EV. The latest model not only brings cosmetic tweaks but also promises significant improvements in performance and technology.

One of the most notable upgrades is the larger battery pack. The current Windsor EV is powered by a 38 kWh battery, but the Windsor EV Pro will sport a 50.6 kWh unit. This is the same battery used in the Wuling Cloud EV in Indonesia and offers a much-improved range of up to 460 km on a full charge—far better than the 332 km range of the existing version.

Under the hood, the powertrain is expected to remain unchanged. The EV Pro will likely continue with a 136 hp electric motor producing 200 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels. While the core performance figures stay the same, the extended range alone will be a huge selling point for long-distance EV users.

Visually, the Windsor EV Pro sticks closely to its predecessor’s design but introduces subtle refinements. The leaked images show new alloy wheel designs and a fresh color option, adding a bit of flair to the familiar look. Another key highlight is the revamped cabin. Unlike the standard Windsor EV, which features an all-black interior, the Pro version showcases a light-colored interior theme, enhancing the premium feel.

The Windsor EV Pro also gets a boost in the feature list. Most notably, it now includes Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), confirmed by the ADAS badge visible on the tailgate. This is a big step up, bringing the Windsor EV Pro in line with competitors offering next-gen safety tech.

Additionally, MG has revealed that the new model will support vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging technology. With V2L, owners can power external devices directly from the car’s battery—a handy feature for camping or emergencies. V2V, on the other hand, allows energy transfer between compatible electric vehicles, making it even more versatile.

Currently, the Windsor EV is priced between ₹9.99 lakh and ₹16 lakh (ex-showroom). Given the significant upgrades in the Pro version, it’s expected that the new model will come with a higher price tag, though exact pricing details will be announced at launch.

With its improved range, added tech, and fresh design updates, the MG Windsor EV Pro looks set to shake up the compact EV market. All eyes are now on May 6 as MG officially unveils its newest electric offering.
